Frequently asked questions

Registering travelers is a mandatory procedure in Spain in order to guarantee citizen security and all tourist accommodation must register the entry of their guests in accordance with the Organic Law for the Protection of Citizen Security of March 30, 2015. The registration of guests is something that has been implemented for decades and is extensible not only for tourist rentals, but also for campsites, hostels and rural houses.

The registration of guests in Spain is regulated and is mandatory in the first 24 hours after the arrival or departure of travelers. This information must be communicated to the State security forces, Civil Guard or National Police.
Given the fight against terrorism and for reasons of public safety, the registration of travelers is a mandatory task for every manager and owner of vacation rentals and hotel services in Spain.

The registration obligations focus on the data of the travelers (names, surnames, sex, identity document, nationality, date of birth, habitual residence, telephone, email and family relationship between the guests) and the data of the house vacation (contract of the parties, hours of entry and exit, date and methods of payment, among others.)
